Paid placement and membership

Businesses can purchase advertisements, job placements and neighborhood promotion. Sponsored and Featured are commercial tiers, not independent endorsements or quality ratings. A Featured ad is paid advertising; look for the Ad or Sponsored disclosure beside paid promotional content. Example/sample artwork is illustrative, not a claim that a business bought that placement.

Payment does not verify a business

No badge can be bought, and no badge verifies licensing, insurance, safety or work quality. What each badge means is on What our badges mean (/what-verification-means).

Advertisers and our role

We sell and administer promotional space, collect associated purchase and measurement records, and provide moderation/report-handling tools. An advertisement is not a recommendation or a guarantee that every claim, offer, price, discount, qualification or availability statement has been independently checked. The advertiser is responsible for its content and honoring its offers.

We are not the seller of the advertiser's goods or services. Confirm offer terms and qualifications directly before relying on them. This does not disclaim responsibility for our own conduct or nonwaivable legal obligations.

Reporting and moderation

Use an available report control or contact support about misleading, unlawful or inappropriate advertising. We may request information, restrict a placement or remove content under our policies. Removal of an advertisement is separate from removal of the business listing. We do not promise that every concern will be detected in advance or that every report has a particular outcome.

How directory ordering works

The default active ordering is not wholly unpaid or organic: it can prioritize active membership tiers and membership start dates. For remaining results it uses review-recency groups, newcomer treatment and a changing order weighted by profile completeness and rating. Other available sort choices include rating, review count, name, ZIP and newest listing. Geographic and category eligibility determine which records are considered.

Membership can therefore affect default visibility. Separate purchased ad slots and their rotation are distinct from the directory list. Neither payment, a badge nor a position in a list establishes work quality or guarantees results.

Local relevance and measurement

Local placements use the selected city, category or neighborhood and the purchased run. Vissabl records impressions and clicks with placement and page-view identifiers, and provides performance counts. This is first-party service measurement, not a promise of unique-person reach, leads or sales. The Privacy Policy explains location, identifiers, providers and choices.
