Who can list on Vissabl and what we check. Family ownership is no longer a condition of listing. What our badges claim is explained on What our badges mean.
Who can list
Any business that serves a local community can list here — family owned, independently owned, a locally owned franchisee, a branch of a larger company, or a civic organization like a school, a place of worship or a city office.
Basic listings are free. Publishing depends on completing the applicable account and listing steps, eligibility and moderation; submitting information is not a guarantee of immediate activation. Paid memberships and placements are optional features, not a condition of basic listing eligibility.
Canceling a current paid membership stops future renewals and returns the listing to Free after its paid term. Older listing subscriptions are separate and their cancellation can pause a listing; contact support to reconcile those records and retain or restore an eligible free listing. Canceling paid features is not the same as deleting an account.
Badges are not a requirement
Family Owned, Locally Owned and Verified Listing are badges a business can carry, not a gate on who gets a page. A business without one is simply not making that claim, and that is not a mark against it.
What each badge means, how a business gets it, and when we take it away is on one page: What our badges mean (/what-verification-means).
Locations, and businesses with the same name
A listing is one location. A business with several branches has one page per branch, each with its own reviews, held by one owner account, and we link them to each other. A franchise that shares a name with another franchise is a different business with a different owner: its page stands alone, is never linked to the other, and is judged on its own ownership. We never merge two listings because their names match. The owner tells us who owns what, and combining two unrelated businesses would misrepresent both.
What we do not check
We do not verify licensing, insurance, bonding, background checks, or the quality of anyone's work, and a listing is not a recommendation. Hire the same way you would from a neighbor's recommendation: ask questions and check references.
Tell us if we get it wrong
If a listing or a badge here is not what it claims to be, report it from the business's page. We would rather hear it from you than let it stand.
